Several fixes have been revealed for the multiplayer lag issues of the recently-released multiplatform video game, ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts.’ According to an update from the Activision Support website on Wednesday, players will be able to improve their online connection by adjusting the home network quality and matchmaking elements. For home network quality, Activision suggests that you should ‘disable any firewall or security features’ in addition to enabling UPnP. The company also recommends using a wired connection as opposed to wireless due to the bandwidth and reliability issues associated with the latter.
Improving matchmaking will also fix some multiplayer lag problems as well. Activision stated that players from a remote region should find matches based on peak hours (which should occur between late afternoon and evening) on playlists with a lot of players. The game will look for the match with the ‘best connection quality.’ So having more people playing online from your local area increases your chances of joining a lag-free match. ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’ launched for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms last week.
The first-person shooting title was published by Activision and developed mainly by Infinity Ward with additional support provided by Neversoft and Raven Software. The PS4 iteration of ‘Call of Duty: Ghosts’ will be coming out later this month on Nov. 15 while the Xbox One version is due to be released on Nov. 22.
